Turns out the person promoting the Dub Warriors around Australia isn't from Adelaide, so they couldn't possibly know who I am, hence they can't possibly book me for their show. So I feel like a tit. But Blake did say he might have a word in their ear, which was nice of him. Looking forward to the show anyway, should be tip top. Jesse didn't even get a support gig, which surprised me! So if they can't even book Jesse, Australia's best selector, how are they going to book me?! Ah well, it's all about the music innt =]
At work right now, have about 15 minutes to go, so this one isn't going to be long. Got some old Metalheadz on right now.
Not much else to report on life really. Read back over that big whinge I had the other week, and whilst it's good to get stuff like that off your chest now and then, I sounded like a big bloody numpty! I should pay more attention to what I write instead of just whaffling on for no reason.
Off to the Cumby in a bit - always a top laugh. And because it's Stamina's birthday, there's going to be nuff junglists there posing and trying to be cool and say 'yeah, I hung with Stamina', which sucks. But if that means more people get to hear Hooligan Soul and their music, can only be a good thing really. Plus, Griff asked me for a couple of old bits to put on on the sly, so I can confirm I will be singing and dancing like a loon and trying not to spill my Stella :)
The UK folks are really digging the classic metalheadz mix I did - I have been asked to do another one, and I got like 4 emails today asking for CDs to be posted off. I want to put Photek's 'Rings Around Saturn' on the next one, cos I love that fucking tune!
When I get feedback like this, it makes me wonder if I should give the DJing thing another go - I got very disenchanted with it all before I left for the UK, but just from doing these mixes over the past month or so, I have been honestly surprised by the feedback. Problem is I enjoy such a wide range of music, I can't dedicate all my cash and time to just one genre cos I will get bored and uninspired again. Hmmm.
Anyways, I shouldn't be spending money on records, I should be saving to go see Kate. Was nice to speak to her again the other night. It's nice to be on the same page now, so we both know where each other is coming from. She's checking out that new job this week, so I'll have to find out how she went.
