Another post from me. I don't update this nearly as often as I should, but I'm a bit useless like that.
Got my riddims in the post today from Jesse. He's such a champion! Emailed him Monday, tunes sent Tuesday, tunes arrive Thursday. Most online record stores don't have service like that, so I must remember to big Jesse the fuck up on Sunday.
Yes...Sunday...STREETLEVEL SHOW ON FRESH FM!! Me and the one like G Money are going to smash the dance (well, studio) with some class tunes, I'm telling you! Had a bit of a practice with the new riddims earlier, checking the drops and seeing how they all work together, and I have to say the 'Red Alert' riddim just makes me wanna DANCE! I figure there will be a bit of juggling, then some classics, then a bit more juggling, then a couple more classics etc. Dunno tho, see how it goes!
Griff was giving me a sample of some of his toasts at another lovely Cumby session last night! Too funny! BUBBLING HOT HOT HOT LIKE SOUP IN A POT! Cracks me up each and every time :) He's gotta do his Rodigan impression as well - LISTEN KEEEEEEEENLY!! Gwaan like yuh baad G Swizzle mah nizzle!
Got some Naked Music mix I did last year on at the moment - mixing could be a little neater, but the tracks! Oh my goodnes! Sublime...
Cumby = top fun as usual last night. I love my weekly pint there. Fuck knows where I would go if they stopped doing the night! Had to chuckle to myself when Alana asked the bat tender for the 'finest glass of goon in the place'. Classy. Not. He just looked at her like she had two heads. I chuckled even more when she stood basically right on top of me at the bar and continued to totally ignore me. Some people's pride eh...
What else is happening...not a great deal. Should get my arse moving with this truck. I'm nearly there, just need a bit more cash and she'll be looking tough!
Spoke to Kate today, which always makes me smile! Her move went well, but she is a bit daunted by her new job and the 30 people she has to manage. I told her should would be perfectly fine, and that new jobs are always nerve wracking. Yet to get anymore info from her, as she didn't stay online long, but apparently her place has net access all the time now, so I hope to get an email update soon.
Bloody email server crashed AGAIN for the 2nd time in 2 weeks this morning, so Stav was suitably unimpressed. Apparently he ended up swapping it out for a brand new Dell unit, which is good, but we had plenty of pissed off customers that we had to deal with throughout the day. Oh well. Now that the new server is there, we shouldn't have any more problems. Mustafa and Linh are now working there, which is cool - takes the workload off me and Scott a bit so we can concentrate more on the things we need to get on with.
Beat Smugglers Album launch this Friday, which should be stonking, then the 80s might at Mojo on Saturday, so it looks like I will be leaving my house for a change this weekend. Nice change of pace haha. The 80s night is going to be killer, I love 80s stuff. My Dad used to play all the hits when I was growing up, so they bring back plenty of fond memories when I hear them again 12-15 years down the track!
